Gionee Raise Brand Awareness with a Premium Airport Presence

The explosive growth of digital and interactive ads has significantly enhanced passenger experiences at airports. This prompted Gionee to explore higher quality and more impactful media options at the Airports.

The Challenge

Gionee wanted to promote its newly launched S6s smartphone with selfie flash using the face of Alia Bhatt, their new brand ambassador.

 Our challenge was to create larger than life impact and enhance brand saliency amongst the urban tech savvy audience.

Our Solution

We strategically placed brand messaging, across six major metro airports, following the passenger journey throughout each airport complex.

This would deliver strong stand-out and cut-through in a highly-targeted advertising space that catered to 100% of the public traffic flow.

A hybrid media plan was deployed, which included HD digital LED displays combined with digital TV screens that played Gionee ads on loop. These ads were positioned at high dwell locations throughout the airport, such as waiting areas and near duty-free shops.

To create saliency, long-term premium display units were also deployed within the airport and at the arrival gates.

The campaign created the desired noise around the launch and helped create optimal visibility for the brand.
