Coca-Cola Brings Gold to Rainbow Nation

27th April 1994: South Africa holds its first post-apartheid elections, a day for which celebrations are held on annual basis to commemorate and celebrate the nation’s democracy, and subsequent birth of what was to become known as the ‘Rainbow Nation’.

Twenty years on, Coca-Cola saw an opportunity to mark its twentieth anniversary, using the sun and some recycled water. This multi award-winning campaign adopted advanced techniques to create artificial rainbows over the skies of a busy Johannesburg district. As the video exhibits, this incredible feat of science generated unfathomable levels of exposure for Coca-Cola, much to the pleasure of the joy-filled citizens.

In this case, Coca-Cola truly brought gold to the end of the rainbow.
