‘The Walking Dead’ Swamp Forecourts in Support of UK Premiere

Hit series ‘The Walking Dead’ returns to FOX for its fifth season on 13th October, and to celebrate the show’s arrival on NOW TV, a collaboration with creative agency WCRS used Amscreen media placements to bring the zombies of The Walking Dead to 450 service stations around the country. The advert takes the form of CCTV footage, making the onlooker believe they are viewing footage of the petrol station forecourt. The surreal scene displays the forecourt becoming increasingly overrun by ravaging zombies, before taking a traditional approach to advertising, by informing viewers that the upcoming season is available to watch on Sky’s internet TV service.

Jana Mollett, Marketing Controller, NOW TV, comments:

“When WCRS presented the idea we were immediately on board. We’d run activity with Amscreen recently and this seemed like a fantastic and innovative way of utilising the media to deliver standout and talkability. We’ve also amplified the activity in social and with a competition giving a lucky winner the chance to appear in the film.”

Jamie Lindsay, Managing Director, Amscreen adds:

We are delighted that NOW TV is creating innovative ways to communicate with customers on the Amscreen network. We also look forward to doing something we have never done before: using our platforms to bring The Walking Dead to life!
