Samsung S-Ray speaker

A new Samsung C-Lab project called S-Ray lets you listen to your devices without disturbing others by beaming sound straight into your ears from devices such as neck bands, phone cases, and Bluetooth speakers.

The S-Ray uses ultrasonic modulation, meaning the core technology isn’t exactly new – it’s been around for quite a while in various products, though it’s never really taken off commercially.

Since it is a Samsung C-Lab project, there is also no guarantee it will ever be commercialized. If it doesn’t get that extra push with support and investment it’s possible this could just be written off as an experiment.
